Moving Minds Hypnotherapy Gold Coast

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I be made to do or say things against my will?

This is a common misunderstanding of hypnosis. Most likely from the result of stage hypnosis performances. People do not say or do anything that they wouldn’t normally. During your appointment we will discuss what you want to achieve and why. Your subconscious mind is always listening and looking out for your best interests regardless of whether or not you are hypnotised.

How long are the sessions?

Generally your first session takes about 90 minutes and subsequent sessions are between 20-60 minutes. It is important that you allow sufficient time and are not worried about making your next appointment on time.

How many sessions of hypnotherapy will I need?

This depends on what is being treated. Some issues are resolved in just one session whereas others may require multiple sessions to fully resolve the problem. I have specifically developed programs with set amounts of sessions for the most common issues. From time to time people decide to continue seeing me after their specific program, or book in for a single session every now and then. You will notice a significant difference after the very first session.

How much does it cost?

Please see the appropriate program (in the services section) for prices. Each program contains a different amount of sessions. The price is based on the number of sessions.

How do I know if I can be hypnotised?

Virtually everyone can be hypnotised. A common myth is when a person says, “No one can hypnotise me, I’m too strong minded”. All hypnosis is self hypnosis. A person goes into hypnosis because they choose to. Strong-minded individuals are usually the best candidates providing they want it to work for them.

Is hypnotherapy okay for everyone?

Not always. There are some circumstances when hypnotherapy is not appropriate or another treatment is more suitable.

Is hypnosis safe?

Hypnosis is a normal, naturally occurring state of mind. There has not been a single documented case of harm resulting from the use of hypnotherapy. For further information Read our Blog Article.

Is hypnotherapy the same for everyone?

No. I regularly change and tailor sessions based on what’s needed. Everyone experiences hypnosis differently and results vary. Most of the time it is very easy, fun, and relaxing. Included in all of my programs are strategies to consciously implement which complement your hypnosis and further improve chances of success. Some people require more repetition than others, and so I often include hypnotic audio sets to take home.

What does hypnosis feel like?

The feeling in hypnosis is normally like being physically, mentally and emotionally relaxed. Some liken it to daydreaming or how it feels just before you drift off to sleep.

Will I remember anything?

This is another misconception. Like when day-dreaming or relaxing, in hypnosis your mind may wander and you may not recall exactly what is said.
