Learn How to Beat Anxiety with Hypnotherapy

It is widely recognised that hypnosis and hypnotherapy are very effective in the treatment of stress and anxiety. Whether the problem is chronic nervousness, or is tied to a specific, short-term situation, a trained hypnotist has the tools to help you beat anxiety.

What is less often recognised is that, in addition to helping with existing stress, hypnosis can be used to prevent anxiety in advance. You don’t need to wait until the anxiety strikes. There are many situations where you can see a problem coming down the road. In those cases, you can use hypnosis and hypnotherapy to deal with it before it arrives.

Take this example. You want to go on a great vacation, but you have to fly to get where you are going, and you are terrified of flying. The idea of climbing into a metal tube, hearing the door close, and being sealed in and at the mercy of fate, is too much to handle. You aren’t sure you can bring yourself to go.

However, the trip is several weeks away, so you have three options.

  1. You can simply not go, and cheat yourself out of what promises to be a great time.
  2. You can spend day after day worrying and fretting, and making everyone around you suffer for your anxiety.
  3. Or, if you are in Gold Coast, you can call Greg Thompson and set up a few sessions of hypnosis for Anxiety.

One idea is to use hypnosis, and self-hypnosis, to rehearse, mentally, all the stages of the coming flight—driving to the airport, getting on the plane, strapping yourself in, feeling the plane taxiing and taking off, flying, and finally landing. You will go through all of that in a trance, which will mean that you cannot feel any anxiety. You will learn basic self-hypnosis, so that you can rehearse those stages at home while you are in a comfortable trance. And when the big day comes, you will be able to slip into a light trance before you leave home, and stay calm and relaxed the whole flight.

You will be flying the friendly skies of hypnosis.

This preemptive approach works well for just about any stressful situation looming in your future. Even better, you will have learned a skill that you can apply to other situations—an all-purpose tool that you will carry with you the rest of your life.
